Our Story

Serving Toronto for over half a century with elegant, thoughtful arrangements, San Remo has earned its place as Toronto’s premier flower shop.

Named after the famous Italian city of flowers, San Remo Floral Design Studio started as a family-owned business in the quaint Italian neighbourhood of St. Clair West. Though we have grown well beyond our cozy storefront and have big time capabilities, we’ve never lost sight of our family roots and small-town approachability.

An Italian immigrant from San Remo, Italy, known as the Town of Flowers, opens up a flower shop in Corso Italia at St. Clair and Dufferin in Toronto.


Acquired by two brothers, they continue to run it as the neighbourhood flower shop for the next 20 years.


Purchased by Mrs. Nagy who incorporates the San Remo Florist name.


A New Generation

Jim Edwards becomes the new owner and brings the shop into a new era, eventually growing to provide event design and unique home furnishings and décor.


San Remo expands to include a second storefront adjacent to its location.


Looking Forward

To accommodate its evolving florist, wedding and event business, San Remo moves to its current location in a large warehouse and office at 530 Keele Street in the Junction area of Toronto.


San Remo Floral Design Studio gets a new brand identity to better serve its wonderful clients and community.

Jim Edwards


A professionally trained chef, Jim is no stranger to attention to detail and standards of tastes. A decade ago he assumed ownership of San Remo. Named after the Italian city known for its beautiful flowers, Jim cultivated this already cultured shop into a veritable studio of colour and form. Jim is exceptionally passionate about all the events and weddings the studio takes on. He adores his clients and is most delighted when he exceeds their expectations.
